Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Service Manager to oversee field service operations supporting the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electric overhead cranes and hoists in an industrial environment. This role is responsible for coordinating service work, supporting technicians in the field, ensuring safe and timely equipment repairs, and maintaining strong customer relationships to maximize uptime across multiple job sites.

This is a long-established industrial service organization with a strong reputation for safety, quality, and customer support, offering stable long-term opportunity and ongoing technical and leadership development.

Job Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage daily field service operations for crane and hoist inspection, maintenance, and repair activities across multiple job sites
• Supervise, schedule, and support field technicians to ensure efficient dispatching, balanced workloads, and timely completion of service work
• Act as the primary escalation point for customers regarding service issues, breakdowns, and repair status updates
• Oversee service execution to ensure safety compliance, quality standards, and adherence to company procedures
• Review and approve service reports, time entries, and job documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Partner with sales/operations teams to support quoting, repair recommendations, and scope development based on field findings
• Drive technician development through coaching, training, and performance feedback
• Manage on-call rotation and emergency response coordination to ensure rapid customer support
• Monitor job profitability indicators (labor hours, travel, repair scope accuracy) and support continuous improvement efforts
• Maintain strong customer relationships and act as the face of the service department in key accounts
• Occasionally assist with field troubleshooting on complex issues when needed for support or escalation

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of industrial electrical and/or mechanical experience, ideally with overhead crane and hoist systems
• Strong electromechanical troubleshooting background (480V, 3-phase systems, AC/DC controls, motors, VFDs)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and guide troubleshooting efforts in the field
• Prior experience in a lead, supervisor, or service coordination role strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills with both customers and technical teams
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to occasionally work at heights and support field visits as needed

Work Environment:
• Local travel required with occasional overnight stays; company service vehicle provided where applicable
• Varied schedule including occasional weekends and on-call coordination responsibilities
• Safety-first, team-oriented environment with emphasis on training, accountability, and long-term growth
