About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned professional to join their aerospace manufacturing team, focusing on maintaining the highest standards of quality during maintenance and repair operations. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, advocating for quality improvements, and facilitating communication between internal teams, suppliers, and the end customers.
Main Duties
- Oversee product quality to meet stringent standards such as FAA, EASA, AS9100, NADCAP, and ISO
- Serve as the go-to quality authority for both clients and suppliers
- Execute internal audits and support the maintenance of robust compliance mechanisms
- Manage quality documentation, including records and manuals
- Provide quality-based review and approval of purchasing documents
- Oversee corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues
- Conduct assessments and reviews of supplier performance
- Assist with inspection tasks and contribute to quality documentation and reporting
- Work with cross-departmental teams to implement effective quality and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline (or relevant experience)
- In-depth understanding of:
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Measurement and inspection methodologies
- Industrial production processes
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Hands-on experience with AS9100, ISO, and NADCAP systems
- Excellent analytical and organizational capabilities, along with strong communication skills
Desired Expertise
- Knowledge of FAA/EASA standards and Airworthiness Directives
- Experience in aerospace maintenance and repair disciplines
- Proficiency in supplier quality control and auditing practices
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, walking, and handling materials
- Occasional lifting of weights up to 20 lbs
- Able to function effectively in both office and workshop settings
