The purpose of your role as an Outside Sales Representative - Preventive Maintenance

Under direct supervision of Sr Solutions Consultants, learn how to sell HVAC and plumbing maintenance agreements through cold calling, prospecting, lead generating, and establishing relationships with prospective clients. This individual will work with the General Manager and Sr Solutions Consultant to update records and provide additional services to our current customer base.

The intent of this role is to learn about the business and the services that Harris provides to become more effective at selling Maintenance Agreements.

Sales Strategies:

  • Research targeted industries and vertical markets to uncover high-quality leads and new business opportunities

  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Solutions Advisor on cold calls, gaining real-time exposure to proven outreach strategies

  • Develop and refine cold calling skills across multiple communication channels, guided by Sales and General Management leadership

  • Tailor service offerings by aligning product features with customer needs and organizational goals

  • Analyze customer HVAC, plumbing, and energy costs to identify inefficiencies and present cost-saving opportunities through service agreements

  • Create compelling sales presentations and proposals that clearly communicate value and application

  • Generate new prospects through existing clients, referrals, and strategic outreach efforts

  • Gain a deep understanding of each prospect's organization, decision-making process, and timeline to effectively guide them toward a commitment

  • Stay informed on market trends and customer needs to confidently communicate pricing strategies and manage contract renewals. Respond proactively to cancellations with strategic retention plans

Business Development:

  • Execute targeted business development strategies within defined vertical markets, tracking progress through CRM tools
  • Provide valuable insights and feedback to enhance prospecting strategies and program effectiveness
  • Build strong, professional relationships with customers, vendors, and partners to drive mutual success and maximize profitability

Mechanical Systems Knowledge:

  • Assess and document system components, evaluate conditions, and recommend optimal maintenance solutions. Identify and escalate potential project opportunities
  • Participate in industry events, training sessions, and lunch-and-learns to build foundational HVAC and plumbing knowledge

Customer Service:

  • Review and modernize existing customer agreements to align with current standards and offerings

  • Partner with customers to implement Building Advice monitoring systems; analyze performance data and collaborate with service teams to recommend energy- and cost-saving improvements

  • Support the Customer CARE program by proactively engaging customers, strengthening relationships, and improving retention

  • Escalate customer concerns and feedback to the Service team to ensure timely resolution

  • Conduct site visits as needed to address customer concerns and deliver exceptional service experiences

Other:

  • Collaborate with operations and vendors to ensure timely procurement and delivery, supporting seamless customer service
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely reports and proposals
  • Gain a strong understanding of credit and collections policies; communicate effectively with customers to resolve issues and ensure prompt payment while minimizing company risk

Team Collaboration:

  • Partner with Service Technicians through ride-alongs to build relationships and gain hands-on insight into service delivery
  • Foster strong internal relationships across field, office, and leadership teams to solve problems, uncover opportunities, and drive profitability

What we're looking for in you

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field preferred
  • 2+ years of prior customer service experience
  • 2+ Years of Microsoft Office Experience
  • Ability to maintain a motor vehicle record that meets company guidelines
  • Willingness and ability to learn and apply Conceptual Sales techniques

Pay Range: $51,177 to $76,765 per year

The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
