    Description

    Our growing telecom client is looking for an experienced, FTTH Engineer to join their team! The OSP Engineer III i is responsible for leading the engineering lifecycle of FTTH projects—from design through construction support. This position provides technical oversight for internal designers and external engineering vendors, ensures design accuracy through QA/QC processes, and supports multiple active projects simultaneously.You'll play a hands‑on role in producing and reviewing OSP designs while also helping establish consistent standards, documentation, and reporting across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and review outside plant fiber designs in alignment with industry standards and jurisdictional requirementsProvide technical oversight for multiple concurrent FTTH projectsReview engineering drawings, construction documents, and permit packages for accuracy and complianceEnsure engineering outputs meet internal standards through QA/QC checklists and processesInterpret, revise, and validate splicing diagrams and fiber schematicsReview bills of material (BOMs) and associated labor estimates tied to design packagesEvaluate and quality‑check make‑ready engineering (MRE) and make‑ready construction (MRC) documentationAnalyze utility maps, right‑of‑way data, and pole records to support accurate designsMaintain project status tracking and weekly/monthly engineering reportsCoordinate with internal teams and external engineering vendors to meet project timelinesUtilize GIS and CAD platforms to support design, documentation, and data accuracyPerform data validation, georeferencing, digitizing, and GPS edits of telecom infrastructureSupport field data collection and ensure accurate integration into engineering systemsMaintain and improve engineering procedures and documentationAdhere to all safety policies and contribute to a strong safety cultureTools & TechnologiesExperience with some or all of the following is preferred:GIS/CAD Platforms: ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD, TrimbleFiber / Utility Systems: 3GIS, OSPInsight, GE Smallworld (or similar)Document Management Systems and digital filing workflowsQualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or related field (Equivalent industry experience will be considered)5+ years of experience in Outside Plant (OSP) design and engineeringExperience supporting or leading regional FTTH network designAt least 1 year of GIS experience (utility or telecom preferred)Proven experience with QA/QC of utility or telecom engineering drawingsStrong ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independentlyEffective communicator with the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external partnersStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsWillingness to travel as needed to support projectsWhy This RoleWork on high‑impact FTTH deployments that directly serve underserved communitiesJoin a team that values quality engineering and long‑term network reliabilityOpportunity to influence standards, processes, and vendor performanceBlend of hands‑on technical work and leadership‑level responsibility#J-18808-Ljbffr
