The Exterior Surfaces Outside Salesperson is responsible for the marketing and sale of hardscape materials (tile, stone, brick, pavers,etc.). He/she will represent and grow business for the company in a designated territory through sales to residential clients and design and building professionals working in the low country based out of Hardeeville, SC.
Duties and responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Solicit market area surfaces clients and conduct sales out in the field via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing customers.
Meet sales goals and expectations through development and maintenance of customer relationships
Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals
Attend industry events
Set client meets and guide clients in the selection of materials and throughout sales process
Lead Generation through client visits, farming and cold calling prospective clients
Assist customers, supplying information and answering questions in timely manner
Create estimates and invoices, process payments
Provide excellent customer service for all customers and clients
Review all projects to ensure order will be executed correctly
Verify pricing and lead times to accommodate clients’ needs
Weekly sales projection reports
Follow up on order progress
Order and provide samples to customer
Assist with selection of and suggest new vendors
Provide informational “tours” of the showroom to clients and customers as appropriate
Identify weaknesses and strengths of products offered
Resolve client issues
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Excellent customer service skills required
2+ years of demonstrated success selling high quality exterior materials.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen and translate client’s needs into sales
Strong organizational and math skills
Ability to read construction plans a plus
Capable to work independently and as a member of a team
Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word & Excel.
Excel at ‘follow-up’ and ‘follow through.’
Familiarity with customer relationship management principles.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Ability to multi-task well and calmly navigate competing and changing priorities
Working conditions
This position may work in an office environment, at off-site locations and construction sites. This employee may also be required to show product and samples to customers. Additional hours may be required based on workload and business needs.
