Under the direction of the SC Child Care Resource & Referral (SC CCR&R) Community Engagement Manager and in conjunction with the Communications Coordinator, the Outreach Specialist position is field-based in Richland County and oversees and manages the promotion of services and related programs through statewide outreach activities. It is a 12-month, full-time research grant position with benefits as part of SC CCR&R hosted at the USC College of Education Child Development Research Center. Duties include providing information and materials about the services offered by SC CCR&R to families, child care providers, organizations, employers, and the community through trainings, conferences, community events, and meetings.
This position requires reliable transportation and the ability to travel to conduct/attend on-site outreach events, meetings, and community events and perform other job duties throughout the state. This position also requires work outside of typical business hours (evenings, weekends).

Responsible for the coordination and implementation of marketing and promoting the services of the SC CCR&R with a focus on educating families, child care programs, employers, and the community about child care topics and issues. This includes working with Outreach and Communication team members and management staff to develop outreach plans and strategies; coordinating with the Outreach & Resource Specialist and other staff to plan and manage outreach and professional development events both by traveling to conduct/attend in-person and virtually; and assisting in the distribution and inventory of marketing materials and promotional materials (including brochures, flyers, etc.) to promote SC CCR&R services.

Develop professional partnerships with appropriate community partners to further coordinate, promote, and strengthen working relationships with organizations and promote SC CCR&R services statewide.

Maintain data files (electronic/paper) of all outreach events, including internal tracking of trainings, conferences, meetings, seminars, and webinars. Work in coordination with the Outreach & Resource Specialist to develop reports, including monthly activities report and quarterly and year-end reports, for Program Director/PI.
