Job Summary
The Outreach & Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the external visibility, community relationships, and strategic communications of the College of Arts & Sciences (COAS). This position is responsible for planning and coordinating college-wide events, including community outreach forums and networking events for students, alumni, and executive stakeholders. The Coordinator supports the COAS Leadership Board and collaborates with campus and community partners to strengthen employer relations and career-focused initiatives.
The position also leads marketing and communications efforts for the College, including social media management, content creation, website maintenance, newsletter production, and advertising. The Coordinator provides day-to-day guidance to student workers and interns, supports internship development, and assists with recruitment marketing. Occasional in-state travel is required to support events and outreach initiatives.

Proposed Salary
This position is a pay grade 7. The available salary range is $40,729.00 to $59,068.00. Starting salary within this range is based on relevant years of experience.

ABILITIES
Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, alumni, community partners, and executive stakeholders in support of college-wide goals.
Ability to manage the Colleges social media presence, website, and newsletter, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with institutional branding.
Ability to provide day-to-day guidance to student workers and interns, and assist departments in developing recruitment marketing materials.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel in-state as needed to support events and outreach activities.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of event planning principles, including logistics coordination, vendor management, site selection, and budget oversight.
Knowledge of marketing and communications strategies, including digital, print, and social media channels, and best practices for institutional engagement across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and standard office productivity software.
SKILLS
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, professional content across newsletters, advertisements, website copy, and correspondence.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing deadlines.
Skills in social media content creation, scheduling, audience engagement, and designing promotional materials including digital graphics, flyers, and banner.
Event planning and coordination skills, including scheduling, logistics, vendor communication, and on-site support.
Skills in compiling and reporting engagement and marketing metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
