The Outpatient Nursing Manager is responsible for operational leadership, clinical oversight, and performance management of outpatient pain management services across clinic and procedural care settings. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while advancing service line growth, efficiency, and integration across the continuum of care.

The manager collaborates closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to support coordinated care delivery and optimize patient outcomes within a multidisciplinary pain management model.

Primary Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Workflow Management

  • Direct and oversee daily operations of pain management clinics and procedure areas, including staffing, scheduling, and patient flow
  • Ensure efficient clinic throughput, reduced wait times, and optimal utilization of clinical and procedural capacity
  • Lead workflow design and standardization across clinic and procedural settings to support consistency and scalability

Clinical Quality, Safety, & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards across outpatient and procedure environments
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, patient experience, and quality performance metrics

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and performance management for outpatient nursing staff and support personnel
  • Support staff development, competency validation, and specialty certification (e.g., pain management certification)
  • Foster a highly engaged, accountable, and patient-focused team culture aligned with organizational values

Care Coordination & Service Integration

  • Partner with physicians, APPs, and multidisciplinary teams (including behavioral health and other specialty services) to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care
  • Facilitate seamless integration of clinic and procedural services to support continuity across the patient care journey
  • Support implementation of standardized care pathways and clinical protocols

Performance Management & Growth

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators, including access, throughput, scheduling efficiency, patient satisfaction, and procedural volume
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement initiatives that enhance efficiency and patient experience
  • Support service line growth through improved access, capacity management, and clinical optimization

Financial & Resource Oversight

  • Manage staffing models, productivity, and resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Optimize staffing ratios and workflow efficiency to reduce overtime, cancellations, and operational waste
  • Contribute to financial performance through improved throughput, scheduling processes, and capacity utilization
