The Outbound Supervisor's role is to provide the highest level of front-line customer service to Oak Harbor Freight Lines internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, guide, and direct dock employees as needed, including setting targets, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and development to meet company standards.
  • Hold regular safety and communication meetings with employees.
  • Prepare daily dispatch paperwork, including hazmat documentation.
  • Meet all assigned key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Communicate with leaders, dockworkers, and customer service teams to troubleshoot freight delays or exceptions.
  • Review and revise schedules to increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Enforce understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager/Terminal Manager.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cross-dock role (preferred).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong PC proficiency: experience with MS Office products required. AS400 experience is preferred but not required.
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to organize multiple priorities and projects.
  • H.S. diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Regular attendance is required.
