What Youll Do:
- Deliver high-quality orthopedic surgical care during scheduled shifts, including 24-hour beeper call coverage (on-call, not required to be onsite).
- Manage a light patient volume, focusing on efficient and effective treatment.
- Collaborate with hospital staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
Required Skills:
- Active New Mexico medical license and NM DEA registration.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible within 3-5 years of residency.
- Proven expertise in orthopedic procedures as per practice requirements.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle 24-hour on-call responsibilities professionally.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with outpatient and inpatient orthopedic surgeries.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Additional certifications or specializations in orthopedic subspecialties.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of orthopedic surgery residency.
- 1+ years of clinical orthopedic practice preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Enrollment in the Patient Compensation Fund (PCF) for New Mexico (agency will provide coverage).
- Successful hospital privileging and payor credentialing process (approximately 90 days).
- Up-to-date case logs from the past 24 months.
- Willingness to comply with all hospital and healthcare regulations.
- Travel reimbursements and licensure/certification expenses covered as applicable.
