We aren't just a preschool; we are a collaborative, passionate team of educators dedicated to creating a child-centered, warm, and welcoming environment.

If you love watching children light up when they discover something new, thrive in a supportive team environment, and want to work within a highly respected, NAEYC Accredited, 4-star Parent Aware program within the Orono Public School District, we want to meet you!

The Opportunity: What You'll Do

As a Preschool Teacher, you will work under the direction of the Early Learning Coordinator and collaborate closely with an Assistant Teacher to bring a creative, developmentally appropriate curriculum to life.

Spark Curiosity & Manage the Classroom

  • Design the Magic: Plan and conduct daily, safe, and engaging activities that foster social-emotional and academic growth.
  • Co-Create the Environment: Work hand-in-hand with your Assistant Teacher to maintain a clean, orderly, nurturing, and intriguing classroom.
  • Intentional Prep Time: Utilize dedicated, built-in "prep time" to dream up and prepare high-quality educational materials.

Assess & Adapt

  • Informed Teaching: Incorporate authentic assessment into your weekly lesson plans, using the insights to customize learning for individual children and the group.
  • Track Growth: Provide bi-yearly progress reports to celebrate and track student milestones.

Build Strong Connections

  • Partner with Families: Keep open, warm lines of communication with caregivers to support them in understanding and celebrating their child's unique development.
  • Host Conferences: Conduct bi-yearly family conferences that strengthen the home-to-school connection.
  • Collaborate with Peers: Attend and actively contribute to staff and family meetings, bringing your unique perspective to the table.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

The Must-Haves:

  • Licensure: A current Early Childhood B-3 teaching license issued through the Minnesota PELSB.
  • Passion for Excellence: Knowledge of the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress Birth-5, best practices, and diverse learning styles.
  • People Skills: A warm, welcoming rapport with children and caregivers, balanced with strong, positive classroom management skills.
  • The Essentials: Excellent communication, organizational skills, patience, and a high level of professional flexibility.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience using Teaching Strategies GOLD (preferred, but we love a fast learner!).
  • Experience navigating the vibrant, fast-paced environment of a public school district.

What We Offer

  • Dedicated Prep Time: We respect your time and provide built-in hours to plan your curriculum.
  • A Supportive Culture: Work alongside a teaching team that values your initiative, growth, and enthusiasm.
