An Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) maintains, repairs, and replaces electrical systems (<600 volts) in industrial plants, commercial buildings, or governmental premises. Key duties include troubleshooting motors, controls, and lighting, ensuring compliance with Oregon Electrical Specialty Code (OESC), and performing preventative maintenance to keep facilities operational.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical wiring, switches, receptacles, light fixtures, ballasts, and motors. • Install and maintain motor control equipment, PLCs, and power distribution systems. • Ensure all work meets NEC (National Electrical Code) and OESC standards, promoting a strong safety culture. • Conduct routine inspections, testing, and upkeep of machinery to prevent failures. • Maintain work orders, documentation, and records of repairs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• License: Active Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license. • Own tools, able to read and understand blueprints. • Two years of industrial manufacturing or military experience; knowledge of OSHA and State regulations. • Experience with controls--PLC, VFDA. • Available to work all shifts, holidays, weekends. • Proven experience in industrial or commercial electrical maintenance.
Technical Skills
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals. • Physical Ability: Capability to lift 50-70 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
Typical Working Conditions
Work is often in industrial environments and can be dirty, strenuous, and involve bending or standing for long periods. May require flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, or on-call, to support manufacturing operations.
