TITLE: Orchestra Coach

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

To organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive orchestra program that is designed to meet the needs and interests of the school community. To provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of academic achievement. To demonstrate a high degree of ethics, professionalism, human relations and be a positive role model for all students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist with orchestra rehearsals and sectional practices.
• Provide instruction in instrumental technique, music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills.
• Support students in preparing for concerts, festivals, competitions, and auditions.
• Offer individualized and small-group coaching to improve musical proficiency.
• Assist with the selection and preparation of performance repertoire.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote proper instrument care, maintenance, and performance etiquette.
• Help supervise students during rehearsals, performances, and travel events as assigned.
• Encourage student participation, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.
• Collaborate with the orchestra director, school staff, parents, and community members to support program goals.
• Assist with organizing music, equipment, uniforms, and performance logistics.
• Maintain compliance with district policies, procedures, and student safety requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Band Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• Valid Arizona Drivers License
• Valid Clearance ! Fingerprint Card
• Preferred three years paid coaching experience in related sport
• Valid CPR Certificate
