Our Professional Relations Team is seeking a part time, Oral Health & Wellness Solutions Specialist to develop and implement evidenced-based clinical oral health and wellness programs by educating providers, purchasers, patients/beneficiaries about patient centered plan designs and programs. This Registered Dental Hygienist position provides outreach, engagement, and oral health management services for providers, purchasers, and patients/beneficiaries.

Some of the Responsibilities for this Role:

  • Assures broad access to HOW (Health through Oral Wellness) by engaging oral healthcare providers who render care to patients/beneficiaries of NEDD dental plans. Contributes to provider satisfaction by responding to queries about HOW resources.
  • Ensures the delivery of enhanced preventive benefits based on individual risk for oral disease to HOW eligible patients/beneficiaries by training providers to perform PreViser risk assessments.
  • Influences the practice patterns of oral healthcare providers by delivering evidence based training programs and educational curriculum relative to the connection of oral health and overall health.
  • Bridges information misconceptions by meeting with and educating providers on marketplace dynamics, economic pressures, and customer requirements as they relate to Northeast Delta Dental's business, provider, and customer value propositions. Provides facts and statistics, answers questions, and clarifies information about dental insurance industry, and specifically, Northeast Delta Dental. May present at Dental Society component meetings and Northeast Delta Dental seminars.
  • Encourages behavioral changes in patients/beneficiaries for the improvement of overall health by educating them to understand risks for oral disease and related preventative measures. Provides individualized outreach and engagement by focusing messaging based on individual risks and preferences.
  • Engages employer groups and individual purchasers by presenting oral health training and education for current and prospective employer groups and individuals.
  • Improves population oral health and helps manage healthcare costs for employer groups by analyzing, implementing, and measuring the impact of customized education, oral health management and engagement programs, and targeting interventions to improve oral health outcomes.
  • Represents the company by participating in oral health related activities, events, and external committees.
  • Enhances professional and technical knowledge and stays abreast of trends in field by attending continuing education programs and participating in internal and external meetings and seminars.

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge for this Role: Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene, or other healthcare field, plus at least two years of work experience in a dental practice or other healthcare setting as a dental hygienist, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Knowledge of dental coding and of risk assessments is preferred. Active Dental Hygiene license required. Driver's license required.

Work Schedule for this Role: The typical work schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. for this part time, 30 hours per week position. This is a hybrid position with travel throughout Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
