This OR Tech 3 (Tier 3) opening is based at a 585-bed hospital in Kansas City, MO — a Level I Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with dedicated specialty programs in cardiovascular care, neurosciences, orthopedics, and women's services including obstetrics and fertility.

The role. The Surgical Technologist III functions at a senior level, taking ownership of complex and high-acuity cases across a broad range of surgical specialties while serving as a go-to resource and mentor for the OR team. In the first-scrub role, this technologist manages instruments, supplies, and equipment throughout the procedure, maintaining constant vigilance over the sterile field and anticipating surgeon needs in real time. In the second-scrub role, the technologist directly supports the surgeon and surgical assistant through sponging, suctioning, suture cutting, retractor holding, and endoscopic camera manipulation. The position requires demonstrated lead competency across robotic surgery, total joints, neuro/spine, burn, and vascular surgery — including endovascular wire procedures in a vascular hybrid room. The patient population spans adolescents (12–17), adults (18–64), and geriatric patients (65 and older).

What we're looking for.

• Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), required upon hire
• Minimum 1 year of OR Tech experience required; 2 years of experience in a facility of similar size and service scope preferred
• Endovascular experience in a vascular hybrid room performing wire procedures required
• Demonstrated lead competency in robotic surgery, total joints, neuro/spine, burn surgery, and vascular surgery
• Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position on a mixed schedule with rotating weekends and an on-call requirement.
