Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.\n \nSummary:\n \nUnder the direction of the Manger of O/R Distribution the OR Materials Technician Lead will play a critical role in ensuring surgical teams have the supplies and equipment they need to deliver safe, high-quality patient care. In this fast-paced environment, you will oversee the day-to-day availability and distribution of surgical materials across the Operating Room and procedural areas, serving as a key partner to clinicians, physicians, and support staff.\n \nThis role combines hands-on supply chain coordination with problem-solving and collaboration. You will manage inventory levels, restock essential supplies, track and resolve backorders, and ensure timely delivery of materials to support complex surgical and procedural workflows. As a lead, you will also provide guidance and support to team members, contribute to process improvements, and help maintain an organized, efficient, and compliant environment.\n \nIdeal candidates are detail-oriented, adaptable, and thrive under pressure. You bring strong knowledge of surgical supplies and materials management processes, along with the ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and service. Your work will directly impact patient care by ensuring that critical supplies are always available when and where they are needed.\n \nThe selected candidate exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.\n \nResponsibilities:\n\n Responsible for effective distribution of surgical supplies and equipment to designated Omnicells, support rooms, re-stock cabinets, sterile areas and all appropriate arenas within the Operating Room.\n Receives, unpacks, and delivers surgical supplies and equipment ordered from outside vendors and off-site warehouse.\n Reviews and verifies accuracy of shipments by counting and comparing packing lists with all receiving/delivery tickets for accuracy of materials receipt.\n Performs basic contract administration by following up on back-ordered supplies with surgical buyers and notification to appropriate Assistant Unit Director (AUD) and/or service.\n Assists appropriate management personnel in the maintenance of predetermined par levels of supplies.\n Files all pick-tickets, purchase requisitions, and delivery tickets, in the departmental closed files.\n Interacts with physicians, nursing, purchasing, delivery services, and other operating room personnel in a cordial and professional manner.\n Must maintain environmental cleanliness and order in specific work areas\n Must be able to provide after hour's coverage on heavy caseload days.\n Participates in quality improvement processes.\n Ensures that order placement and delivery dates meet nursing needs.\n Collaborates with clinicians to problem solve complex issues regarding purchase orders, receipts, loaners, credits, substitutes and stock-outs.\n Performs quarterly and fiscal year end physical inventories.\n Provides assistance, guidance and backup for related personnel in the Materials Management department\n Performs other related duties as assigned or required.\n \nRequired Job Qualifications:\n\n High school diploma/GED.\n Four (4) years of Healthcare Materials Management, Sterile Processing, Purchasing, Distribution, or Receiving experience necessary.\n Must be available to work on weekends.\n Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).\n Knowledge of Omnicell hardware/software functions.\n Knowledge of Materials Management/Purchasing and Inventory Control processes.\n Knowledge of surgical equipment and supplies.\n Basic understanding of clinical terms and procedures.\n Ability to handle multi-tasks simultaneously under pressure and strict deadlines to meet changing workload demands and priorities.\n Superior organizational skills, with attention to detail and oral communication skills.\n \nPreferred Job Qualifications:\n\n Experience with the Lawson ERP system (including the Mobile Supply Chain module).\n \nRush is an equal opportunity employer.
