Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is seeking a full-time nine-month Opticianry teaching faculty within the School of Health Professions. Faculty loads are normally scheduled on an average load of fifteen (15) credit hours per semester. Office hours, advising and collateral duty assignments are maintained. Teaching schedules may include day, evening, or weekend classes and multiple campus and off-campus assignments. This is a year-round program; summer teaching assignments are optional. General duties and responsibilities on which the faculty will assist in this capacity include, but are not limited to: support and achievement of strategic objectives for the program that are consistent with and supportive of college and school strategic goals and objectives; participation in the selection/mentorship process for adjunct faculty; coordination of distance clinical education course offerings; management of equipment related to laboratories and clinical instruction; academic program advising; participation in program assessment and curriculum revisions; growing program enrollment through increased marketing/recruitment efforts; and, marketing and promotion of the program in the community particularly with local K-12 systems.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

This is a restricted position that is dependent upon funding. The availability of funding is scheduled to end on June 30, 2029, but may be extended based on the continuation of funding. Continued employment is contingent upon funding availability.
