OPS CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS CONSULTANT II - 37970337

The OPS Construction Projects Consultant II (37970337) is responsible for directing and managing construction projects relating to new state park development, renovation, rehabilitation, and facility repair in Central Florida. This roleis essential to supporting the Florida Park Service by ensuring high quality facilities and infrastructure across Florida's award winning state park system. The position is located within the Division of Recreation and Parks, Bureau of Design and Construction, District 3 Administration Office. Primary responsibilities include managing construction activities, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, leading project inspections, reviewing project documentation, overseeing change orders and invoices, coordinating with consultants, and maintaining organized project files. Leadership responsibilities include directing project-related meetings and coordinating activities with consultants and other staff.

Knowledge in:

  • Principles, techniques, materials, and equipment in building construction
  • Architecture/engineering design, construction, production and/or operations
  • General construction, design standards, construction administration, and material cost analysis

Skill in:

  • Word processing for reports and correspondence
  • Planning, organizing, and coordinating construction program activities
  • Designing and implementing architecture/engineering contracts
  • Analyzing and interpreting architecture/engineering data
  • Applying engineering quantitative techniques
  • Monitoring and inspecting building projects
  • Communicating technical information effectively
  • Solving architecture/engineering-related problems

Ability to:

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver License
  • Regular and extensive travel for site inspections (up to 50%)
  • Experience managing construction projects and overseeing contract compliance

Pay: $30.00 – $33.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
