Ophthalmic Clinic Lead


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Ophthalmic Clinic Lead to oversee the daily operations of our busy ophthalmology practice. This leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care excellence while managing a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes.  ***This job will require travel to all 3 of our office locations in Chicago, Lombard, and Elgin so reliable transportation is a must. 


Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the ophthalmic clinic team

- Work clinic floor as ophthalmic tech with Doctor to see patients and make sure all patients are being seen in timely fashion

- Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, and satisfaction are maintained at all times

- Manage clinic schedules, patient flow, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency

- Oversee clinical procedures, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices

- Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for staff members

- Collaborate with physicians and administrative staff to develop and implement operational policies and procedures

- Monitor clinic performance metrics and implement improvements as needed

- Maintain inventory of ophthalmic supplies and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration

- Address patient concerns and resolve issues promptly to uphold quality service standards

  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Assistant (COA) required
  • Minimum of 2 years of ophthalmic clinical experience
  • Strong leadership and team management skills 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures, equipment, and clinical best practices
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel between all three office locations (Chicago, Lombard, and Elgin)
  • Experience working with Nextech EMR systems
  • Strong understanding of MIPS/MACRA documentation and compliance
  • LASIK experience highly preferred
