The Vacuum Truck Operator is responsible for servicing portable toilets, hand wash stations, and holding tanks using a vacuum truck. This role is primarily a driving and sanitation position that involves routine cleaning, waste removal, refilling supplies, and ensuring all units are serviced safely, efficiently, and professionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a vacuum truck to service portable toilets, hand wash stations, and holding tanks
  • Pump, clean, deodorize, and restock units according to company and environmental standards
  • Transport waste material to approved disposal facilities in compliance with regulations
  • Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections (pre- and post-trip)
  • Complete required driver logs and service documentation accurately and on time
  • Maintain cleanliness of truck, hoses, tools, and equipment
  • Provide professional, courteous service while representing the company at customer sites
  • Follow all company safety policies and environmental compliance requirements
  • Work independently while managing daily routes and service schedules
  • Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and near-miss reporting
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications
  • Experience operating a vacuum truck or similar equipment is preferred
  • Strong work ethic and ability to perform hands-on, physical work
  • Safety-focused mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment
  • Good organizational skills and ability to complete paperwork accurately
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Willingness to accept after-hours calls when required
  • Some short-term travel and occasional overnight stays may be required
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
Physical Requirements
  • Must be in good physical condition and able to perform manual labor
  • Ability to lift hoses, operate valves, and work around waste materials
