LEAF River, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking an Operator responsible for operating gas handling, leaching, and auxiliary equipment to maintain required pressures and flow rates in high pressure natural gas and water/brine systems up to 3500 psig. Major Responsibilities Start, stop, and regulate gas handling and leaching equipment to maintain required pressures and flow rates for storage and leaching SMUG operations. Perform required inspections of all operating gas handling, leaching equipment, and systems during assigned shift; identify, document, and report major malfunctions or symptoms of failure. Monitor operating data on CRT display and printout as applicable; accurately record all equipment operating data and prepare required reports. Adjust equipment to maintain maximum operating efficiency of the gas handling and leaching facilities; schedule and perform minor repairs and coordinate major repairs or third-party inspections as needed. Operate and maintain valves and valve operators of various types and sizes throughout plant and pipeline system. Respond to One Calls and perform maintenance and inspections on pipeline facilities and other plant equipment when requested. Assist and advise other personnel with technical and non-technical tasks as requested. Brief oncoming Operator on current operating conditions, issues encountered, and unusual system conditions. Spend a minimum of 60% of work time in the field inspecting facilities and monitoring operational and construction activities. Participate in Company-sponsored technical training and cross-training to improve knowledge and skills. Requires On Call as required by area supervisor. While On Call, must remain accessible by phone or pager. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal safety and environmental regulations. Accept changes in work schedule, including shift work and call outs, as determined by the Area Supervisor. Available for shift work schedule changes and call outs as directed by the Area Supervisor. Maintain company buildings, facilities, equipment, vehicles, and rights of way in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, including general maintenance, mowing, weed trimming, and routine cleaning of equipment and buildings as required. Promote positive working relationships with customers, producers, landowners, and internal departments. Position Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining equipment and operations associated with leaching and/or natural gas facilities. Knowledge of gas pipeline safety rules and regulations and OSHA standards for General Industry and Construction. Basic knowledge of leaching, smugging, and gas handling/processing equipment. Knowledge of the principles of spark ignition, piston-type engines, internal combustion engines, and gas processing equipment. Knowledge of water facilities, water and disposal wells, and/or salt cavern leaching. Mathematical proficiency and the ability to accurately prepare clear written documentation for internal and external reporting. Proficient in spoken and written English. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
