Job Summary and Qualifications

As a PBX Operator at our facility, you will have an important role in patient care, and you will be joining a skilled, compassionate team that focuses on providing excellent customer service and reliable support to one another. They believe in and live by our HCA Healthcare ideal of “caring like family”. In this role:  

  • You will receive, screen, and transfer incoming hospital telephone calls. 

  • You will greet and direct patients and visitors. 

  • You will facilitate the overhead paging system in the hospital and direct communications throughout the facility. 

  • You will be on stand-by continually to give proper notifications of emergency codes and alarms whenever those are triggered throughout the hospital campus. 

  • You will provide visual surveillance by monitoring security camera images displayed within the PBX office. You will report any suspicious, criminal, and/or unsafe actions observed. 

  • You will assist with patient registration as needed and perform minor secretarial duties. 

  • You will perform emergent and stat medical record requests for after hour doctor offices, emergency rooms, and/or urgent care. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Excellent customer services skills. 

  • Some previous switchboard and receptionist experience preferred.  

  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboard skills are required. 

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English; good verbal and written skills required.  

  • Must be patient and courteous at all times, even under stressful situations.

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318+ patient beds. Our hospital is the largest medical facility in the region.
