Central Plains Steel, a division of Feralloy, is hiring a Preventative Maintenance Technician to support equipment upkeep across Plant 1 and Plant 2 while assisting with general warehouse operations.
Physical Requirements: Stand or Sit(Stationary position), Walk(Move, Traverse), Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (Ascend/Descend, Work atop, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Stoop, kneel, crouch, or Crawl(Position self(to), Move), Talk/hear(Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess), Pushing or Pulling, Reaching Function in the Job: Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Job Function:
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on production equipment
- Inspect equipment and identify potential issues
- Read and interpret manuals and work orders
- Use hand/power tools and maintenance equipment
- Support warehouse operations (material handling, pulling orders, packaging)
- Operate forklifts, cranes, and yard trucks
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
Required Skills:
- Valid driver’s license
- 0–5 years of experience (maintenance or warehouse)
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in varying temperatures
- Basic math, measurement, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Preferred:
- Maintenance or material handling experience
- High School Diploma or GED
