Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a sharpTier 1 Systems Administratorto join our growing team!

The TAP Lab is the U.S. Space Force’s premier Remote Sensing Application Development Laboratory, with an extensive computer architecture; network infrastructure; and physical facilities that provide a complete computing environment, at multiple levels of data classification (https://boulderlab.org/).    

  

What You’ll Be Doing:   

  • Provide systems, hardware, application, and storage administration support in a primarily Red Hat/ESXi environment. 

  • Work Shift: Monday – Friday onsite  

  • Monitor system for anomalies or issues requiring attention or escalation.

  • Perform initial troubleshooting of system issues.

  • Facilitate vendor onboarding, account creation, password resets, and software updates.

  • Provide IT and Audio-Visual support for classified and unclassified lab events, demonstrations, meetings, and symposiums.

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, and virtualized hardware and software.

  • Implement technical hardware and software solutions to meet system requirements.

  • Assist the Security team with generating, reviewing, and analyzing cyber reports. 

  • Assist with equipment installation, verification, and check-out. 

   

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:   

  • Active Secret  Security Clearance with ability to obtain and/or maintain an TS/SCI   

  • 2+ years of relevant experience   

  • Current Security+  Certification or equivalent DoDD 8140 451-Intermediate Matrix Qualification

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the Microsoft Windows operating systems administration.

  • Familiarization with the administration and troubleshooting of virtualized and bare metal compute concepts. (Virtual Machines, Containers, Other).  

  • Familiarization with Windows Active Directory domains and Windows server administration or Red Hat Identity Manager (IdM).

  • Familiarization with VMware vSphere/ESXi. 

  • Familiarization with managing package installations in a Linux environment. 

  • Understanding of network fundamentals (IP, Ethernet).   

  • Experience with virtualized operating system concepts and administration.

What Would Be Nice To Have:   

  • Two or Four year Degree in Computer Science or a related program preferred.

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)   

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Certification (MCSA)   

  • Experience with KVMoIP or VDI systems.   

  • Experience with working with a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool to monitor system alerts (Elastic preferred).  

  • Working knowledge of automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Python, Bash scripting, Other)

  • Working knowledge of complete hardware stack: rack, power, compute (CPU and GPU), storage (NAS, SAN, Scale-out, and Object), network (switches, routers, load balancers, and firewalls), workstation, and display.

  • Intermediate knowledge of RHEL administration (RHEL 6 and above). 

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
