Role Overview
Our client is seeking an Operations Technician to support the startup, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of ultra-high purity nitrogen plants. This role plays an important part in ensuring safe, reliable plant performance, maintaining customer supply, responding to operational needs, and supporting day-to-day production and maintenance activities in a highly regulated industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Start up and operate ultra-high purity nitrogen plants, including air separation units.
- Adjust plant operations using process control systems to meet production demands.
- Complete operational and maintenance tasks as part of an onsite team.
- Respond to plant alarms during nights and weekends while on call.
- Perform daily rounds, record readings, and calibrate onsite gas analyzers.
- Manage cryogenic tank inventories and support customer supply requirements.
- Complete preventative maintenance work orders according to the published schedule.
- Maintain compressors, piping systems, cooling water systems, and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot cryogenic gas systems and interpret P&IDs.
- Follow all HSE standards and maintain strong safety practices at all times.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year of related operations experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google software, and operator interface consoles/HMIs.
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders and stairs as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cryogenic gas systems, air separation units, or industrial plant operations.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing, utilities, or process plant environment.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with compressors, piping systems, cooling water systems, or related plant equipment.
