Position: Operations Specialist Assistant
Location: Hastings, NE
Pay: $20.00/hour (up to $25.00 based on experience)
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8: 00 AM 4: 30 PM
Language Requirement: Bilingual (English & Spanish) required

What You ll Do

  • Support daily production operations across aluminum melting, die casting, trimming, and finishing

  • Monitor and optimize processes to meet production, quality, and delivery goals

  • Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S implementation and sustainment

  • Collect and analyze production data using Excel (charts, pivot tables, Pareto analysis, trend reports)

  • Collaborate with operators, team leads, and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements

  • Conduct Gemba walks and audits to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to standards

  • Track and report KPIs such as OEE, cycle times, scrap rates, and downtime

  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including Kaizen events and root cause analysis

  • Maintain accurate documentation (logs, audits, work instructions, reports)

  • Promote a safe, compliant, and inclusive work environment

What We re Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate s or bachelor s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred)

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience (metal, foundry, die casting, or similar environment preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles and hands-on 5S experience

  • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, data analysis)

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written)

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Data-driven mindset with attention to detail

  • Willingness to work hands-on in production when needed

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, heat, lifting up to 50 pounds)

Preferred:

  • Experience with die casting equipment, furnaces, or trim presses

  • Familiarity with quality tools (SPC, control charts) or continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, Kaizen)

  • Experience with ERP/MES systems
