Operations Manager (Pharmaceutical, Advanced Technology, Data Center)
Reports to: Director of Technical Services Location: Greer, SC Travel: 15-25%
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing day-to-day operational activities across complex, regulated, and mission-critical environments including life sciences, advanced technology, and data centers. This role ensures facilities, systems, and teams operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while aligning with business objectives. The Operations Manager partners with clients, internal teams, and leadership to drive operational excellence, maintain compliance, manage budgets, and support long-term asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement operational plans, staffing models, and workflows to support continuous and reliable operations.
Oversee day-to-day operations across project sites and infrastructure systems, ensuring performance, uptime, safety, and quality standards are met.
Coordinate with internal teams and external service providers to ensure operational readiness and minimal disruption.
Support operations in regulated and mission-critical environments, ensuring compliance with GxP requirements, SOPs, validation protocols, and performance standards.
Develop and manage operational budgets, operating expenses, and service contracts; track costs and identify efficiency opportunities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring high service levels
Enforce quality systems, regulatory compliance, and company standards through audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with safety programs and supporting incident investigations.
Lead, coach, and develop operations staff; establish performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, KPI tracking, reporting, and implementation of reliability and performance enhancements.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred
Equivalent combination of technical training and related experience will be considered
Professional certifications related to operations management, estimating or construction management
Minimum 5 years of operations leadership experience, preferably within life sciences, advanced manufacturing, or data center environments
Experience working in regulated and mission-critical environments
Valid state-issued driver's license
Skills & Technical Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction scheduling and cost control software
Strong understanding of regulated operations, critical systems, and compliance requirements
Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and operational performance in complex environments
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
ability to analyze data and drive performance improvements
Strong organizational and decision-making capabilities
