The Role


The Operations Manager oversees Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable manufacturing operations at the Ennis Roofing plant. This role partners closely with the Plant Manager on strategic planning, capacity management, and continuous improvement while driving safety, quality, cost reduction, and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives.


+ Lead all Production, Maintenance, and Engineering operations to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable roofing shingle manufacturing-

+ Drive production, quality, safety, and cost performance through strategic planning and continuous improvement-

+ Partner with Plant Manager on capacity planning, operational strategy, and capital planning-

+ Develop and manage operating budgets; identify cost_reduction and efficiency opportunities-

+ Ensure strong maintenance strategy, equipment reliability, and effective change management-

+ Enforce Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and CertainTeed Principles of Conduct-

+ Lead and develop high_performing leadership teams while supporting World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives-


Requirements


+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or Operations Management (required)

+ 5 -8 years experience, including 5+ years supervising production employees in a manufacturing environment (required)-

+ Strong safety and quality focus; understanding of SOPs, Quality Policy, and QMS requirements (required)-

+ Knowledge of materials and inventory control, production scheduling, engineering, ISO environments, and WCM programs (required)-

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (required)-

+ Proficient with business systems and software (QAD, UKG Microsoft Office, spreadsheets) (required)-

+ Proven leadership, performance management, decision-making, organization, and team-building skills (required)-

+ Self-starter, team player, customer-focused, able to meet deadlines with limited supervision (required)
