Operations Manager â Direct Hire / Immediate Opportunity (Bonus Potential)
A rapidly growing aerospace manufacturer is urgently seeking a driven, hands-on Operations Manager to take command of the production floor and accelerate operational performance. This is a high-impact leadership role where your decisions will directly influence output, quality, and customer satisfaction from day one.
What Youâll Do
Lead and optimize daily CNC machining and Assembly operations in a high-mix, low-volume aerospace environment.
Drive daily GEMBA walks and actively contribute to weekly production and 360 meetings.
Manage a team of 50 production employees, including performance management, discipline, PTO/OT approvals, and staffing oversight.
Own all safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance across the facility.
Ensure adherence to NADCAP, AS9100, and customer-specific aerospace requirements.
Oversee production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation across multi-axis machining centers and Assembly operations.
Maintain accurate production travelers and ensure data integrity within the ERP system (Epicor).
Implement lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement strategies to eliminate waste and boost efficiency.
Mentor machinists, assemblers, deburring, leads, and support staff to build a high-performance culture.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, quality, and supply chain to
Monitor KPIs and take decisive corrective action to improve throughput, quality, and cost control.
Manage tooling, preventive maintenance, and machine utilization to maximize uptime.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, urgency, and operational excellence.
What You Bring
7+ years of CNC machining experience, including 3+ years in aerospace operations leadership.
Strong expertise in CNC machining and programming.
Deep understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and CNC programming fundamentals.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred) and production planning tools.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelorâs in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
Certifications: Six Sigma, Lean, PMP, or Certified Manager (CM) preferred.
Software: ERP systems, MS Office, CAD/CAM exposure.
