Job Description:The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of warehouse operations including strategic planning, financial performance, leadership, process optimization and employee development. The role integrates operational development with corporate objectives, aligning resources to meet customer demands and foster continuous improvement. The Operations Manager reports to the Regional Logistics Director and collaborates with cross functional teams to achieve logistics and organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Execute strategic plans for the warehouse aligned w/ corporate logistics goals.
- Lead initiatives to integrate digital transformation, including adopting warehouse management systems.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure operational efficiency by optimizing resources, improving workflows, driving cost effective solutions.
- Manage to key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, productivity, quality, order accuracy and on time shipping.
- Develop and enforce standard work to enhance productivity and sustainability.
Financial Oversight:
- Manage site P&L ensure cost control and budget adherence. Understand cost drivers at the site, be able to provide cost savings opportunities, and provide monthly cost forecasts,
Workforce Management:
- Oversee staffing plans, recruitment, and onboarding to align workforce capacity with operational demands.
- Administer training programs to upskill employees and prepare the workforce for process changes.
- Foster an inclusive collaborative culture that emphasizes safety and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Act as the primary liaison between corporate, regional logistics, and the manufacturing facility.
- Engage with the commercial team to align warehouse operations with business priorities and customer expectations.
Change Management:
- Lead change management initiatives, including communication and training, to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and technology.
- Drive cultural shift to embrace innovation and cross functional collaboration
Risk & Compliance:
- Monitor and mitigate risks, ensuring safety, quality. & regulatory standards compliance
- Administer business continuity plans as needed to minimize disruption during crisis.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree Preferred in logistics or related field
- 5+ years of management experience in Distribution/Warehouse Logistics
- Proven track record managing operational performance, P&L’s and teams.
- Experience implementing warehouse management systems and leveraging analytics for decision making.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Demonstrates the ability to work well with a variety of individuals.
