Position Summary

The custodial staff member is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment at the assigned location, ensuring the well-being of students, faculty, CNM staff, and community members. The role primarily involves performing routine custodial tasks to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards within the designated area.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, office suites, common spaces, lunch, and break areas; empty all trash and recycling containers; wash window sills, walls, doors, and furniture; clean whiteboards and trays; vacuum, sweep, and mop all hallways, walkways, and stairways.

•Perform maintenance duties including stripping, waxing, sealing, and buffing floors; spot clean and shampoo carpets.

•Respond to requests for special moving, clean-up, or set-up tasks as assigned by Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor.

•Respond to emergency spill clean-up requests.

•Report repairs to Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor.

•Perform other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

•Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.

•Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and previous experience preferred.
