Operations Field Support Specialist

Colorado Springs Utilities is hiring an Operations Field Support Specialist to support our Network Transport Service (Fiber) team through managing access control requests, coordinating sensitive accounts, tracking project data, processing invoices and pay applications, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation. If you have strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams across the organization, we want to hear from you!

What Else Will You be Doing?

  • Perform project coordination and lifecycle activities, including tracking statuses, timelines, documentation, and ensuring alignment with short- and long-term objectives
  • Support financial and procurement processes, including creating purchase orders, reconciling invoices, P-cards, labor and material costs, and maintaining adherence to Capital/O&M budgets and forecasts
  • Maintain and audit project data and systems, including ServiceNow requests, C2M data entry, Maximo material tracking, and accurate recordkeeping of purchases and assets
  • Review and validate project-related materials, including fiber as-builts, construction drawings, field documentation, and billing to ensure accuracy and compliance with scope of work
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to support project execution, including scheduling labor, materials, and ensuring timely job site readiness and completion
  • Support logistics and operations, including material pickups, travel arrangements, and managing sensitive customer accounts
  • Provide administrative support, including advising supervisors on budget availability, managing purchase tracking, and processing monthly invoices and payments
  • Support field operations through drafting traffic control plans and ensuring compliance with construction and safety requirements
  • Obtain utility locates to support fiber construction projects

Who You Are

  • Experience with project coordination and data management
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow, C2M, and Maximo databases is valued
  • Ability to organize and manage a variety of work tasks; communicate effectively; work both independently and collaboratively; and solve problems

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (1/3 of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
