Additional Information About the Role
Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking an Operations Coordinator to support the Vascular Access Service and Rapid Response Team.
This individual will audit changes for device placements. They will serve as an administrative assistant for all department needs including ordering supplies, booking rooms, preparing supplies and materials, time keeping and other duties as needed.
Ideal applicants will have a background within an clerical role within healthcare and be very familiar with Ms Office products.
Schedule: Monday- Friday starting between 7 am-9 am.
Overview

The department consists of specialty-trained RNs, many with vascular access certifications, who place vascular access devices (PIVs, midlines, PICC lines) using both traditional and ultrasound-guided techniques. Staff are skilled in difficult access, device insertion, and comprehensive care, including assessment, maintenance, and troubleshooting such as declotting and resolving mechanical issues, while supporting education, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based patient care, and preserving patients' long-term vascular health and integrity.
The department also promotes continuous improvement of multidisciplinary care standards, safety, and patient outcomes across BJC by identifying, implementing, and sustaining innovative best practices, while serving as a communication bridge among vascular access teams.

Serves as the primary contact and liaison between patient care areas, ancillary and support departments within the hospital. Interacts with all levels of management to coordinates business, administrative and non-patient care operational activities.
