Operations and Information Systems - Open Rank Tenure Track faculty position, with a start date of Fall 2027.

 

Rank depends on experience and qualifications.

 

The position will teach undergraduate and potentially graduate courses in operations management, information systems, data analytics, and/or applied artificial intelligence for business students in residential and online programs. Possible courses include Operations Management, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Data Visualization, and Applied AI Solution Development Systems. Some of these courses contain an experiential learning component that could involve partnering with an external client.

 

Faculty members are expected to maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) status through a program of intellectual contributions in the form of peer-reviewed academic publications and presentations and other forms of professional development consistent with the school’s maintenance of AACSB Accreditation. Faculty will also mentor students and accept departmental, college, and university service assignments.

 

About the Management Sciences Department

The Department of Management Sciences employs more than fifteen full-time faculty members holding terminal degrees and has the largest undergraduate enrollment at ACU. The department offers residential undergraduate majors in Information Systems, Management, and Marketing, and it partners with ACU-Dallas to deliver online undergraduate (BS in Management, BS in Marketing) and graduate (MBA and MS in Management) business programs.

Qualifications

Due to ACU’s affiliation with the fellowship of the Churches of Christ, this position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.

 

Qualified candidates will have an earned doctorate (completed or near completion) in operations management, information systems, data analytics, artificial intelligence, business management, or a related technical or business field. In addition, qualified candidates will have a strong record of relevant research and/or professional experience, combined with a commitment to ongoing professional development. Finally, candidates should have proven college/university teaching experience, or show strong promise in teaching.
