Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you'll support the physical and psychosocial needs of surgical patients, assist with intraoperative preparation, and help maintain a smooth, respectful environment for both patients and staff.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with the physical and emotional needs of surgical patients before, during, and after procedures

    • Support the surgical team by preparing equipment, supplies, and patient areas

    • Maintain effective communication with team members to ensure continuity of care

    • Foster positive relationships with other departments and nursing units

    • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and empathy in all patient interactions

    • Uphold Meritus Health's standards of safety, service, and collaboration

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent required

    • Completion of a Nursing Assistant program preferred

    Experience

    • Related experience in patient care preferred

    Licensure/Certification

    • Current BLS (CPR) certification required, in compliance with Meritus Health policy

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a clinical environment

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    • Commitment to patient-centered care and team-based support
