    Contract Overview
    Nexus Community Partners seeks an independent consultant to support operational documentation, coordination logistics, and systems organization for several Open Road Fund initiatives. The consultant will provide defined project-based services to strengthen administrative workflows, documentation systems, and research resources related to ORF program implementation. The consultant will operate as an independent business provider responsible for determining the methods, tools, and work processes used to complete the agreed-upon services.
     
    Work will be performed according to mutually agreed deliverables and timelines, rather than an employer-directed work schedule.
     
    Scope of Services
    The consultant will provide services in the following areas.
     
    Operational Documentation & Coordination
    Possible deliverables include:
    ·      Development and organization of administrative documentation systems supporting ORF program activities
    ·      Preparation of meeting materials, summaries, and documentation related to project planning processes
    ·      Coordination logistics for ORF meetings, convenings, or program activities when requested
    ·      Organization and maintenance of digital documentation systems supporting ORF initiatives
    ·      Preparation of materials supporting stakeholder convenings or program communications
     
    Program Research & Knowledge Resources
    Possible deliverables include:
    ·      Conducting structured research related to reparations initiatives, wealth-building models, and community development strategies
    ·      Preparing research summaries, briefing documents, or comparison tables for program exploration
    ·      Compiling and organizing educational resource lists for the Open Road Fund Community Education Series
    ·      Documenting research outputs and program materials for future organizational use
     
    Systems & Workflow Development
    Possible deliverables include:
    ·      Documenting workflows for administrative and program coordination processes
    ·      Supporting evaluation and documentation of software platforms used in ORF program activities
    ·      Creating templates, guides, or documentation for internal administrative systems
    ·      Identifying opportunities to improve administrative efficiency through workflow or systems improvements
     
    Specific project priorities and deliverables will be mutually established at the beginning of the contract engagement.
     
    Contractor Qualifications
    Ideal candidates will bring:
    ·      2+ years of experience providing administrative, operations, or program coordination services to nonprofit organizations, public sector initiatives, or mission-driven programs
    ·      Experience working with digital tools such as Google Workspace, Zoom, Salesforce, forms platforms, or project management tools
    ·      Experience producing research summaries, documentation, or operational resources
    ·      Strong organizational and documentation skills
    ·      Strong written communication and information synthesis abilities
    ·      Ability to manage project deliverables across multiple workstreams
    ·      Knowledge of or commitment to Black community wealth building, history, and culture
     
    Independent Contractor Terms
    This role is structured as an independent contractor engagement.
     
    The selected consultant:
    ·      May provide services through a sole proprietorship, LLC, or other business entity
    ·      Will determine their own work schedule and methods for completing services
    ·      Will provide their own equipment, software, and workspace
    ·      May provide services to other clients or organizations simultaneously
    ·      Will submit periodic invoices for services rendered
    ·      Will not be treated as an employee of Nexus Community Partners during the contract period
     
    Independent contractors are not eligible for employee benefits, unemployment insurance, or workers compensation through Nexus Community Partners.
