Community Summary

Portico is a discreet nine-building community in North Scottsdale. Portico is a collection of 112 luxury condominium residences located in North Scottsdale. Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Onsite Facilities and Maintenance Technician to perform light maintenance and cleaning/porter duties to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility. The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of building systems, excellent attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems (lighting, plumbing, HVAC components, doors, locks, and fixtures) as directed
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs (e.g., replace light bulbs, adjust door hardware, unclog drains, tighten fixtures)
  • Report any major repair needs or safety hazards to the General Manager and external vendors
  • Assist with small project tasks (arranging work orders, relocating furniture, minor drywall or painting touch-ups, weather stripping, signage installation)
  • Monitor and refill essential supplies (bathroom consumables, cleaning chemicals) and ensure proper storage and labeling
  • Maintain/repair office equipment and common area appliances within scope
  • Maintain records of maintenance work orders, inspections, and parts usage
  • Perform daily property inspections of common areas and building systems
  • Identify, document and proactively address maintenance or safety concerns
  • Proactively follow up with vendors on open work orders until completion
  • Dispatch vendor repairs to appropriate vendor
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on building garage doors and gates
  • Perform general building, grounds, and light janitorial maintenance as assigned, including basic carpentry, fencing, gutter, and concrete repairs within the scope of the position
  • Complete assigned work orders using the organization's work order management system and report needed repairs, improvements, and safety concerns to the General Manager

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or certificate in facilities maintenance or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, janitorial services, or a related role
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and proper handling/storing procedures
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions, blueprints, and safety data sheets
  • Demonstrate a responsive, engaged and cooperative attitude in all interactions
  • Communicate clearly, professionally and timely
  • Take ownership of responsibilities and outcomes
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying and resolving issues without requiring repeated direction
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and customer-service skills
  • Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Experience with boiler and chiller systems, as well as basic maintenance of concrete, fencing, locks, gutters, and other building components, is preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English; bilingual skills are a plus. Pool maintenance experience and hands-on electrical maintenance experience are also desirable

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach as needed.
  • Ability to lift or move objects up to 10-15 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read printed materials, spreadsheets, and computer screens.
  • Hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in virtual meetings.
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Ability to work a standard schedule, with occasional extended hours as required.
