INTERPRETER SPECIALIST
(ON-CALL INTERPRETER SPECIALIST I, II & III)
Summary: Performs oral interpreting services between English and a designated language in various school settings, with duties varying by level. Level I handles standard interpretations at schools; Level II works on complex content like IEP meetings; Level III manages complex situations using interpretation equipment. Responsibilities include interpreting for meetings, events, and documents, assisting parents and staff, and explaining school procedures.
Qualifications: High school diploma and 3 years interpreting experience or a bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience. Certification and language proficiency assessments are required. Flexibility for evening and on-call hours is needed.
Salary: $30/hour, benefits for full-time employees, and on-call/temporary positions without benefits.
