Job Details Job Location: Santa Cruz, CA 95060Salary Range: $23.00 - $23.00 hourlyJob Summary The On-Call Counselor is available to work as needed to cover shifts that include ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents at the facility and supporting program operations. This role requires experience or education working with individuals who struggle with mental illness and substance use disorders, and a passion to serve this unique population. The counselor will manage multiple tasks and work swing, night, and weekend shifts. Availability to cover weekend shifts is required.Duties & Responsibilities Respond to emails, texts, or phone calls in a timely manner and be available for on‑call coverage as needed.Ensure adequate safety for program residents and property during specific shift hours.Respond to client behavioral, medical, facility, or natural emergencies while on duty.Provide therapeutic crisis management with support from the Manager or On‑Call Manager.Provide therapeutic intervention services based on best practices and evidence‑based practices for clients with mental health or substance use disorders and co‑occurring disorders.Support clients administratively, including evaluation, assessment, counseling, and assistance in implementing treatment plan interventions or facilitating individual, group, and crisis counseling sessions.Dispense medication, report incidents, record shift changes, and perform household duties as required.Conduct general safety checks and headcounts.Comply with regulatory requirements.Communicate effectively and use current technology for case notes, incident reports, and correspondence with community service providers.Qualifications Bilingual English/Spanish desired but not required.High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.Ability to work independently and manage time well.Valid driver's license and a clean DMV record.Computer literacy, including email, Microsoft Word, and navigation of electronic health record documentation.Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills with co‑workers and community partners.Wages & Benefits Full‑time employees receive medical and dental insurance plans for themselves and their families.Employees may use acupuncture and chiropractic services as part of a holistic health approach.403(b) retirement plan.17 vacation days, 12 sick days, and 14 paid holidays; benefits pro‑rated for part‑time positions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
