Description Are you ready to lead safety infrastructure for Amazon's first self-performing material handling equipment integration program? As Principal Risk Manager for One MHS Integration & Deployment within the Workplace, Health & Safety organization, you'll build and operationalize the complete safety program that enables Amazon to safely execute MHE installations across its fulfillment network. You will do this by partnering with WHS Construction Safety, ONE MHS I&D Leadership, GES Construction, and third-party labor providers to ensure every site has the policies, training, and compliance systems required to protect workers from day one. You will own the entire safety infrastructure for ONE MHS Integration & Deployment - every policy, procedure, training standard, compliance framework, and operational safety system - with increased scale year over year. You will do this by designing and authoring the complete ONE MHS safety policy framework, building course training curriculum across multiple role types, managing the Go/No-Go readiness process, and driving a five-tier safety metrics framework that spans lagging indicators through cultural benchmarking. You will analyze safety performance data across simultaneous project sites and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership including Directors and VPs. Drive Prevention through Design at scale: You will establish the ONE MHS safety policy architecture from scratch - bridging Amazon's existing WHS operational policies, WHS Construction Safety standards (SSC V3/V4), and the unique requirements of an internal MHE integrator performing construction-adjacent work in operational facilities. You will author procedures across policy areas including electrical safety (NFPA 70E), fall protection, LOTO/control of hazardous energy, confined space entry, rigging and lifting, hot work, PIT/MEWP operations, and scaffolding. Your objective: build the infrastructure that makes self-performing integration safe before operations begin. Influence cross-functional stakeholders at all levels: You will build trust across WHS Construction Safety, WHS RME, WHS FEC, ONE MHS I&D Leadership, GES Construction, and third-party providers by communicating complex technical requirements clearly and effectively. Your ability to earn credibility across organizations with competing priorities - speed, standards, and operational handoff - will embed safety into every phase of the ONE MHS program. Build and Scale: You will design the system, stand it up, prove it works, and scale it across the network - all while the work is happening around you. You will manage the transition from consulting support to fully internal capability, develop the distributed safety leadership model, and continuously refine policies and training based on field feedback, incident data, and evolving Amazon standards. This role requires travel of 40-60% to conduct site visits, lead Go/No-Go readiness assessments, and oversee safety program execution across multiple simultaneous facility launches.
