In July 2024 GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical Oko" gold district some 95 km west of Georgetown.To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position ofCrane OperatorThe Crane Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining cranes used in construction manufacturing and heavy lifting operations. This position requires a solid understanding of crane functions load lifting and safety protocols to ensure smooth efficient and safe operations on job sites.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate cranes including mobile tower and overhead cranes to lift move position and place heavy materials equipment and structures.Ensure the crane is properly maintained and conduct regular inspections to ensure safety and functionality.Follow all safety procedures and guidelines including securing loads inspecting rigging and ensuring equipment is functioning properly before use.Communicate with the site supervisor riggers and other crew members to ensure accurate positioning and placement of loads.Maintain accurate logs of crane operations maintenance and inspection reports.Follow job site directions and make adjustments to crane operations based on changes in the site or weather conditions.Ensure proper use of safety gear and adherence to OSHA standards.Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major malfunctions to maintenance teams.Participate in routine safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and safety standards.QualificationsSkills and ExperienceValid crane operator certification.At least 2 years Proven experience operating various types of cranes in a construction or industrial setting.Knowledge of crane types lifting techniques load charts and safety procedures.Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift heavy loads.Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with site supervisors and team members.Physical ability to operate cranes and manage site conditions including standing for extended periods climbing and occasional heavy lifting.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.Working ConditionsPosition based at the OKO Project site.
