Primary Purpose:
Implement oral language proficiency assessments, communicate results to parents, provide translation services, and support the efficient operation of the Language Support Services office.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Fluent with speaking, reading, and writing in English and Spanish.
- Successful experience in working with children.
- Requires knowledge of computer systems hardware and software (assessment programs, spreadsheets, typing skills); must be able to do data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong communication, public relations, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Able to multitask and work independently to meet goals and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain focus with frequent interruptions.
- Well organized and attentive to details.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administers oral language proficiency assessments to newly enrolled students.
- Communicates oral language proficiency assessment results and program options with parents.
- Supports parents with the completion of student history forms.
- Assists in the efficient operation of the Language Support Services office.
- Translates for students, parents, and staff.
- Translates documents, as needed.
- Assists with supervision of students.
- Provides effective and positive internal and external customer service.
- Cultivates and models a respectful working and learning environment.
- Other duties as assigned.

Customer Care Skills: Mental Demands/Physical Demands:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
