ODOT (Oregon) Certified Technician

Baer Testing & Engineering, Inc. is experiencing rapid growth and is looking out for experienced candidates to join our project team! As one of the market leaders in Geotechnical Engineering, Materials Testing, and Special Inspection services in Central Washington we're looking to expand our team. We are a locally owned business that has been providing these services for 21 years in Central Washington.

Baer Testing and Engineering, Inc. is seeking ODOT (Oregon) certified materials testers holding certifications in CDT, CEBT, CAGT, CAT 1, and CAT2.

These position would be based out of our office in Kennewick, WA servicing the greater Tri-Cities and North-Eastern Oregon. The position includes manual labor type work such as: lifting heavy objects throughout the day, working outside in hot and cold weather. This position will require basic math and writing skills. Candidates should have a valid drivers license with good history as well as ability to pass a background check in order to enter government facilities.

Material testing tasks typically include:

-Soil/Aggregate Compaction Testing-Concrete Testing-Asphalt Testing-Structural steel/Welding Inspection. Laboratory testing (sieve, proctor, cylinder breaks, etc.)

Typical hours are Mon-Fri 7am-4pm, but can vary based on workload. That may include night work, overtime, weekends, and potential out of town (overnight) work. During the busy season 50-70 hour weeks are possible.

The applicant must have a current license and good driving record, the ability to lift 75 pounds daily, ability to dig holes, drive throughout Central Washington, and obtain Army and/or other government access to construction projects (no felony records) This position also requires adherence to federal drug enforcement policy's (no marijuana or drug use).

Baer Testing & Engineering, Inc. is seeking a long-term hire with potential to acquire additional certifications, take on more responsibility, and become an integral part of the company. Support is provided for certification training and education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour WAGE WILL BE DETERMINED BY EXPERIENCE. Inspectors with more experience and holding several certifications may be offered higher hourly wages or salaried positions.
