Salary Range: $51,500-$75,000 per year (12 month position)

Duties and Responsibilities
+ Provide students with sound clinical programs to meet their Occupational Therapy needs as outlined on their Individual Education Plan (IEP)
+ Conduct clinical programs in individual and/or group sessions as per the IEP
+ Provide on-going consultation, training, and support for classroom staff to carry over therapeutic programs
+ Provide students with appropriate sensory motor programs
+ Work cooperatively with team members in the evaluation and development of prescriptive feeding programs designed to improve oral motor abilities
+ Attend various discipline related meetings and in-services (e.g. team meetings, department meetings, program meetings, staff development days)
+ Work closely with parents to provide appropriate home programs
+ Work cooperatively with the interdisciplinary team responsible for coordinating and implementing goals and recommendations for each student
+ Design and/or obtain adaptive positioning systems necessary to provide proper alignment and facilitate independent movement patterns (e.g. wheel chairs, standers)
+ Participate in the design and/or modification of adaptive equipment or devices (e.g. utensils, switches)
+ Maintain written documentation in accordance with departmental and agency regulations
+ Understand the psychological, social and medical characteristics of the population served
+ Provide clinical instruction for future therapists
+ Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
+ NYS Occupational Therapy license (or in pursuit of)
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
+ Prior experience in Occupational Therapy
