Occupational Therapist (OT/L) Children's Mental Health Services Intensive Home - Based Therapeutic Care (IHBTC) & Specialty Flex Programs

Mobile Community-Based Position
Full Time | Serving Youth and Families Throughout the Community

The Edinburg Center is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our Children's Mental Health Services team. This is a mobile, community-based position providing services to youth under the age of 21 with mental health needs in their homes, schools, and communities.

What You Will Do

The Occupational Therapist works as part of two multidisciplinary teams, Intensive Home Based Therapeutic Care (IHBTC) and Specialty Flex, alongside Social Workers, Mental Health Clinicians, Outreach Staff, Young Adult Peer Mentors, Family Partners, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing occupational therapy services to youth and young adults in their homes and communities.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans and measurable goals.
  • Supporting sensory integration, emotional regulation, fine and gross motor development, social skills, and self care skills.
  • Teaching youth and families practical strategies to improve functioning and independence.
  • Collaborating with caregivers, providers, schools, and community partners.
  • Participating in treatment planning, case consultation, team meetings, and clinical supervision.
  • Providing consultation and education to team members and caregivers regarding sensory, social, emotional, and cognitive challenges affecting daily functioning.

Who You Are

You are a compassionate, flexible, and collaborative professional who is passionate about helping children and families succeed.

Qualifications include:

  • Occupational Therapy degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current Occupational Therapist License (OT/L).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with a pediatric population.
  • Experience working with youth experiencing serious emotional and behavioral health challenges preferred.
  • SIPT certification preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a community-based setting while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible schedule to meet the needs of youth and families.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license and reliable transportation required.
