Under the direction of the Director Rehabilitation Services and in coordination with the OT Clinical Supervisor, our Occupational Therapists provide services in the outpatient setting including hand therapy and orthosis fabrication, the inpatient setting including acute and SNF admissions, and in multiple contract locations including school settings for all ages.
Job Details:
Hours: Employee preference with restrictions. Option of 24 to 40 hours a week. No weekend hours required.
Continuing education benefit available with additional Medbridge subscription provided.
Mentoring available with OT Clinical Supervisor who is credentialed as a CHT, and possibility of mentoring/consultation with an experienced pediatric therapist.
Some travel may be required based on service areas covered.
Clinical support from experienced staff of PT, OT, and SLP team members in addition to a strong support staff to assist with regulatory/billing requirements and scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complete evaluations and assessments including appropriate standardized testing of patients with a variety of OT appropriate diagnoses.
- Implement safe and appropriate treatment procedures based on current practice standards and provide up to date patient education.
- Provide supervision of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and performs duties of clinical instructor for OT/COTA students as required.
- Effectively communicate with referring providers and other care team members as needed.
- Complete continuing education that promotes current best practice standards and allows for professional growth/development.
- Timely completion of medical records that are following insurance, regulatory, legal, and department requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all state of Vermont and AOTA regulatory guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Required is a Master's degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program and be licensed to practice in the State of Vermont.
- Excellent communication/collaboration, analytical assessment, independent decision-making abilities, time management and organizational skills are all required.
