OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST POSITION
JOB GOAL:
The licensed occupational therapist practicing in the educational setting provides school-based occupational therapy to support student participation, functional skills, access, and independence in the educational environment. The therapist collaborates with families and school staff to assess needs, develop goals and supports, and deliver services in accordance with state and federal guidelines under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Schedule 804; Range 122; nine and one-fourth (9.25) month contract (190 days), with benefits.
FLSA: Exempt
NOTE: Salary placement within the range is determined by the district based on education and experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL FUNCTIONS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain reliable and punctual attendance, be physically present at assigned work locations for the full duration of the contracted workday, and limit unexcused absences to an infrequent basis.
Travel between school sites as assigned (may include students' homes for homebound services).
Meet the physical demands of school environments, including walking, navigating stairs, and supporting student needs.
Must be able to lift 35 lbs independently and up to 50 lbs with assistance.
This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information.
Supervise a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) as assigned.
Participate in required professional development.
Maintain all professional licensure requirements throughout employment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
