Atlantic Health is searching for a qualified full-time Occupational Therapist for their inpatient unit at Overlook Medical Center. This position is for 37.5 hours per week in which the will provide direct patient care to individuals recovering from trauma, surgery, or acute medical conditions in the acute care setting. The role involves evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and helping them regain essential daily living and work skills.
Responsibilities include:
Patient Assessment & Planning: Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional functionality, Develop individualized therapy programs tailored to each patient's
needs.
Therapeutic Interventions: Implement evidence-based treatments to restore or enhance patients' ability to perform daily activities, Provide adaptive strategies and equipment to support independence.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals, Participate in coordinated care and discharge planning.
Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and home
care strategies. Train caregivers in safe mobility, transfers, and use of assistive devices.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment
outcomes, Ensure compliance with hospital policies and health regulations.
Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in acute care occupational therapy. Participate in continuing education and training.
Other departmental duties/responsibilities as deemed required by the department manager.

Qualifications
Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required. A Bachelor''s in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program prior to
2008 is acceptable.
NBCOT certification (OTR), strongly preferred
BLS required.
Current New Jersey state licensure or eligibility is required.
