Occupational Therapist

As a school-based Occupational Therapist serving K-3 and High School students in Harvard, Illinois, your days will include:

  • Providing direct occupational therapy services to students with a variety of educational and developmental needs.

  • Conducting evaluations and contributing to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to support students' functional, academic, and social participation.

  • Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, administrators, related service providers, and families to promote student success.

  • Supervising a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) while ensuring quality service delivery and compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Maintaining accurate documentation, progress reports, and Medicaid billing documentation (where applicable).

  • Participating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.

  • Supporting students across K-3 and High School buildings (no middle school caseload).

Job Details

  • Position: Contract (option to renew) in a school setting

  • Assignment Dates: August 10, 2026 – May 20, 2027

  • Hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday

  • Caseload: K-3 and High School students

  • Interview Process: Virtual interviews beginning the week of July 27

  • Team Environment: Join an established related services team consisting of one Occupational Therapist and two Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. This position includes supervising one OTA while providing direct therapy services.

Successful Candidates Possess

  • Master's Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy (required)

  • Active Illinois Occupational Therapist License (required)

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) not required

  • Previous pediatric or school-based experience (preferred, but not required)

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to supervise an Occupational Therapy Assistant

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

  • New graduates are encouraged to apply

  • This is an on-site position. Virtual or hybrid candidates will not be considered.
