At the direction of the Clinical Manager, the Occupational Therapist screens, evaluates, re-evaluates and treats patients referred by a licensed provider. Coordinates and communicates treatment activities with health care team members and the patient. Works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care.
Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist:
Evaluates the patient''s need for occupational therapy and develops/carries out appropriate treatment plan. Instructs family members, COTA''s, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate physical therapy techniques. Communicates with the physician and other health care providers on a regular basis regarding the patient''s progress. Provides clinical oversight of COTAs in the home.
